U2 added a very special band member last during their Tuesday night performance at Toronto's Air Canada Center while on the Innocence and Experience Tour.
U2 invited a young woman named Stephanie on stage during their set and she performed "Angel of Harlem" on the acoustic guitar, Rolling Stone reported. Stephanie also joined the band for "All I Want Is You," which was the song she most wanted to play with the band.
One night earlier in their current tour, U2 invited a U2 cover band to join them on stage. The cover band performed for a crowd of over 200,000 people, The Star added.
Bono spoke to Rolling Stone about how this tour would be different. He explained that the band wanted to bring down the wall between the band and the audience. "What was at the heart of punk rock for us was the desire to communicate on an equal basis with your audience. Meaning there's no division between you and the people that come to see you," said Bono.
The Innocence tour will be going to Boston next for a four-night run and will be concluding its United States run with eight shows at New York's Madison Square Garden.
