Mads Mikkelsen is reportedly in early talks with Marvel to play the villain in Doctor Strange, which already stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.

The casting news was first reported by Variety. It’s not clear what part he will play, but it’s clear that it will be another villain for Doctor Strange.

Cumberbatch is playing Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon who becomes the new Sorcerer Supreme to protect the world from magical threats. 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor is playing Baron Mordo, who will also become an enemy. Tilda Swinton is starring as The Ancient One, Strange’s mentor.

Marvel chief Kevin Feige confirmed that Swinton and Ejiofor will be in the film during D23. Cumberbatch also recorded a video for fans at the event and concept art was shown.

Mikkelsen was previously considered for the villain in Thor: The Dark World, but the Danish actor’s commitment to NBC’s Hannibal made him unavailable. Since thats how was cancelled, he has also joined Star Wars: Rogue One.

Doctor Strange, which will be directed by Scott Derrickson, hits theaters on Nov. 4, 2016. The script was penned by Prometheus writer Jon Spaihts.
