It was only seven years ago that George Miller was actually supposed to make a Justice League movie for Warner Bros., but there’s a rumor out there today that the Mad Max filmmaker could be returning to the DC Comics world.

During an appearance on Popcorn Talk’s latest episode of DC Movie News, documentary filmmaker Jon Schnepp revealed that Miller is directing a proper sequel to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Schnepp is the director of The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?, a film about the Tim Burton/Nicolas Cage movie that never happened.

As Comicbook.com points out, Schnepp didn’t say where he got this information or why he could sound so confident about it. He also didn’t give further details on the project, or how Miller plans on making this if he also wants to make another Mad Max movie.

Miller, who has an Oscar for directing the animated hit Happy Feet, revived his career in the live action realm this summer with the critically acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road. In 2008, Warner Bros. did hire him to make a Justice League movie, but that was cancelled (and could also get a documentary about what went wrong there).

Snyder hasn’t had a chance to make a real Man of Steel 2 since his next film is March 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then, he is supposed to helm a two-part Justice League movie.
