For the second consecutive big convention, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be represented, but not by the release of a new trailer. Fans at the San Diego Comic-Con last month didn’t get one and anyone attending Disney’s D23 in Anaheim this weekend will not get to see one.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, co-writer/director J.J. Abrams confirmed that there will be no new trailer at D23. However, there will be a new trailer sometime this fall.

“It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise,” Abrams told the magazine. “In the fall, there’ll be a trailer.”

Some suspected that the reason why SDCC didn’t get a trailer is because Disney and Lucasfilm were holding it back for their own event. But Abrams said that he is still working on the final cut of the film and didn’t want to rush showing more footage.

So far, Disney has released an 88-second teaser and a full theatrical trailer, which was shown at Star Wars Celebration in April. Over the weekend, a South Korean TV spot also appeared, showing just two new shots that we hadn’t seen before. Fans at SDCC only got a nifty behind-the-scenes video.

The Force Awakens is also featured on EW’s cover this week for its fall movie preview. The film hits theaters on Dec. 18.
