Blake Lively might have been trying to court serious attention with roles in The Age of Adaline and Woody Allen’s next movie, but she isn’t above taking roles in monster movies. The former Gossip Girl star is reportedly in talks to join Sony’s In The Dark.

The casting was first reported by TheWrap. If she ends up starring in the film, she will play a woman trapped on a buoy and fighting for her life, as a shark comes nearby. The project is being described as 127 Hours-meets-Jaws. Hopefully, she won’t have to lose an arm.

The script was written by Tony Jaswinski and Jaume Collet-Serra, who directed Liam Neeson’s Run All Night, will be directing. The producers are Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem of Weimaraner Republic Pictures.

Sharks seem to be popular in Hollywood again. In June, Warner Bros. restarted work on Meg, which will star a giant killer shark. Shark fan Eli Roth was hired to direct that.

Lively was last seen in The Age of Adaline and will next star in Woody Allen’s currently untitled 2016 movie. She also stars opposite Jason Clarke in Marc Forster’s All I See Is You.
