Boardwalk Empire team Bobby Cannavale, Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter couldn’t be kept off HBO for long and this time, they’ve taken Mick Jagger and Olivia Wilde with them. Cannavale and Wilde lead an all-star cast in the new HBO series Vinyl.
The project was long referred to as the untitled rock ‘n’ roll pilot from Scorsese and executive producer Jagger. The pilot was written by Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street) and George Mastras (Breaking Bad) and directed by Scorsese. Other executive producers include Scorsese, Jagger, Winter, Mastras, Rick York and Emma Tillinger Koskoff.
Cannavale, who was just wasted in a supporting role in Ant-Man, stars as Richie Finestra, founder of American Century Records, who faces a crisis and tries to save his company. While he goes through his personal struggles, the punk world is emerging during the 1970s and he has to adjust.
The star-studded cast also includes Wilde, Ray Romano, Andrew Dice Clay, James Jagger, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor.
The 10-episode series will start next year. You can check out the first teaser below.
