Bruce Willis has suddenly been let go from Woody Allen’s latest production. The action star had signed on for the film knowing that he also had his Broadway debut in the works and it appears that scheduling might be to blame.
News of Willis’ departure was first reported by Deadline. The site reports that Allen was not going to be able to finish the film in time before Willis began work on Misery, which is set to begin previews on Oct. 22.
Willis had been a part of the Allen 2016 film since March, along with American Ultra co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. The cast also includes Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll, Ken Scott, Jeannie Berlin and Paul Schneider.
Weirdly enough, Willis and Allen did start shooting. Comingsoon.net posted photos from the set, showing Eisenberg and Willis in a 1940s car (so clearly, this is a period piece). That leads us to wonder if Willis left because of scheduling or because he wasn’t working well with Allen.
Allen’s latest film is Irrational Man with Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone and Posey.
