Jericho the lion is alive and well!
The "brother" of slain lion Cecil was spotted on Sunday morning by Oxford University researcher Brent Stapelkamp, according to The Wildlife Conservation Research Unit.

Stapelkamp has been tracking the lion in his Zimbabwe habitat. He was spotted at 6:15 a.m.
On Saturday afternoon, The Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force reported that Jericho was shot and killed. The group later posted an apology for misreporting what they referred to as "a case of mistaken identity."
Jericho is about 11 years old. Although he is often referred to as Cecil's brother, the two lions were not related but shared a bond "close to brotherhood." ABC News reported that Cecil and Jericho were in the same coalition.
The spotlight has been on Jericho since Zimbabwe called for the extradition of Walter Palmer, the American dentist who admitted to killing Cecil on July 1. He was under the impression that the hunt was legal. As we reported, the dentist has since closed his practice.
