Director Marc Webb has finally found a feature project that might be seen as a better follow-up to (500) Days of Summer than his two Amazing Spider-Man films. He’s working on Gifted, which will star Chris Evans.

The casting was first reported by Deadline. The project is set up at Fox Searchlight, which released (500) Days of Summer in 2009. Evans will star as a man suing for the custody of his gifted niece. It was written by Tom Flynn.

Following a career as a music video director, Webb helmed the romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer in 2009 before Sony hired him to direct The Amazing Spider-Man movies. Those projects kept him from making a better follow-up to (500) Days, but once he was finally freed, he started directing TV projects. He directed the pilot for CBS’ Limitless, which will air next month.

As for Evans, he’s working on Captain America: Civil War. His directing debut, Before We Go with Alice Eve, hit theaters this summer.
