The 21 of August seems to be a big day for Emma Watson and fans of her work.
Yesterday, Aug. 21, marked 15 years since “The Golden Trio” of the Harry Potter series was announced to the world. 11 year olds Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint would portray Harry Potter and his best friend Ron Weasley in the widely popular series based on the books by J.K. Rowling, with 10 year old Emma Watson as their bookish friend, Hermione Granger.

Yesterday, Emma Watson sent out a tweet that made every Harry Potter fan cry inside that said, “The 21st of August must be an auspicious day for me. 15 yrs ago I began my journey as Hermione, 15 yrs later I wrap on my 1st musical as Belle.”
Watson, now 25, will star as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, which will be released early 2017.
According to Mirror, the press release announcing the trio all those years ago noted that importance that the roles would bring to not only the actors, but to wizards - and muggles - all over the world.
"We searched through all Muggle and Wizard households to find just the right young people to play Harry, Ron and Hermione and we have found them in Dan, Rupert and Emma," the then President of Worldwide Theatrical Production at Warner Bros. Pictures, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, said in the press release. "These are magical roles, the kind that come around once in a lifetime, and they required talented children who can bring magic to the screen."
Talented children indeed. The trio have continued to make movies, even after Harry Potter. Daniel Radcliffe will star in this Fall’s Frankenstein, Emma Watson in the upcoming Regression and Rupert Grint in next year’s Moonwalkers.
It’s been 15 years. And just think, in only two years, Harry’s son Albus Severus will be headed to Hogwarts, 19 years after the fall of Lord Voldemort.
