Demi Lovato continues to remain very open about the constant battle she faces with drugs and alcohol. She explains how her addiction affected her relationships with several people.

In a candid interview with Cosmopolitan, Lovato goes into depth about how her relationship with boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama has remained strong throughout the five years that they have dated.

She explains that did have an “off and on” relationship, but that was only when she relapsed. “I didn’t realize it at the time, but I just wanted to sabotage everything around me so that I could sabotage myself,” admits Lovato.

Even though the couple experience a good amount of drama, Valderrama never gave up on Lovato and helped her get through a lot of issues.

People even advised Valderrama to leave Lovato, but he cared too deeply about her and refused to leave her.

The interview also got Lovato to open up about how she was jealous of Miley Cyrus’s ability to party, reports Entertainment Tonight.

When Lovato saw Cyrus in her “We Can’t Stop” music video, she became bitter about the fact that she couldn’t have fun like that.

“Her [Cyrus’s] whole thing was partying and not giving a f**k. Part of me was super jealous that I couldn’t be like that. I had to look at my life and be like ‘Okay, that’s just not what you can do,” explains Lovato.

Lovato is in a much happier place than she was before and remains very hopeful about her future.
