A story posted on the web last week claimed that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton actually tried to shift blame for the email scandal that’s currently hovering over her campaign to her daughter, Chelsea Clinton. However, this is story is not true.

A satire site called The Daily Rash published a story with the headline “Hillary Clinton says Chelsea Erased Servers During Postpartum Depression.” The story is a “transcript” of an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

In the supposed interview, Chelsea actually “admits” to erasing Clinton’s email servers and even removing classified markings from State Department emails. Clinton then claims that Chelsea was suffering from postpartum depression.

Of course, this story is false, although a couple of forum users fell for it.

In real life, the email scandal has hurt Clinton’s position in the polls, but she is still the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. As the Washington Post notes, the issue is that Clinton used a private mail server for State Department business while still working as the Secretary of State. She has given 30,000 emails to the State Department and FBI.

Politico reports that it has been found that at least 63 emails were marked classified by the State Department, but kept on her private server.
