Donald Trump has been subjected to countless rumors about his hair, with many suggesting that he wears a toupee or even a wig. But during a campaign stop in South Carolina on Thursday, he set out to prove everyone wrong.

He read aloud a line from a New York Times article that accused him of wearing fake hair, so he called a woman up onstage inspect his head to prove it’s real. He let Barbara Walters do the same thing on The View a few years back.

“Ricardo Sánchez, known as El Mandril for his Spanish drive-time radio show in Los Angeles, has taken to calling Donald J. Trump El Hombre del Peluquín," he read from the article. "'In other words, The Man of the Toupee.'"

He continued, "I don't wear a toupee. It's my hair. I swear!"

Trump then called up a very excited woman from the audience, telling her, “You're going to have to do an inspection. This is getting crazy. Just real quick,” adding, “We don't want to mess it up too much because I do use hairspray."
