The electronic band Owl City had to deal with its biggest scandal when one of their guitarists was charged with luring a teenage girl to his hotel room to have sex with her.

According to E! Online, Daniel Jorgensen was indicted yesterday in New Jersey after being charged for attempted sex with a minor back in 2013.

Apparently, Jorgensen initially contacted the girl on the Internet and cell phone. He told her to come and meet him in Atlantic City where he was working with his band.

Prosecutor Jim McClain explained that the 30-year-old committed illegal sexual contact with the minor on the beach in Atlantic County and then attempted to bring her back to his hotel room to have sex.

Philly.com reports that Jorgensen can be sentenced for five to ten years of prison for the child luring charge and up to 18 months for the fourth degree sexual contact charge.

Superior Court Judge Bernard E. Delury set bail for $100,000.

Owl City’s manager Steve Bursky released a statement in December 2013 that read, “As of this weekend, we have terminated Daniel Jorgensen’s employment and all involved as a touring member of Owl City.”
