Amid the international outrage over the killing of Cecil the lion, an Idaho woman has now come under fire for celebrating and posting images online of a giraffe she killed in South Africa.
Reuters noted that Sabrina Corgatelli appeared on the Today Show to defend herself and big-game hunting as a whole.
"Everybody thinks we're cold-hearted killers and it's not that," Corgatelli said "There is a connection to the animal and just because we hunt them doesn’t mean we don't have a respect for them. Giraffes are very dangerous animals.”
Corgatelli came under fire after she bragged on Facebook and posted pictures of herself posing near the dead giraffe, which sparked a slew of commenters to react against the posts.
Of course this comes at a time when American dentist Walter Palmer killed the beloved 13-year-old lion in what was allegedly an illegal hunt. Zimbabwe officials are calling for him to be extradited to the country to face charges. He has since went into hiding and closed his practice.
