Iggy Azalea had to respond to troubling tabloid rumors that sprouted over the weekend, claiming that she is addicted to heroin. The rapper called the rumors false and tried to laugh them off.
The tabloid Madiatakeout.com claimed that Azalea had track marks on her hands, which could ee evidence that she has been abusing heroin for some time. The site had no evidence beyond a few photos that showed some bumps on her hands.
Azalea somehow heard about this report and claimed it was completely false. “Just landed in australia and iam dying with laughter because nicks just showed me an article that says im a heroin addict. WHAT?! LOL,” Azalea wrote on Monday afternoon.
She added, “could be injecting heroin into my hands.... OR could just be scratches from @AleHerself's evil cat that attacked me the other week,” calling out a friend.
The “Fancy” rapper also retweeted a fan who joked, “She’s in Australia because her cartel is going international.”
Azalea is currently engaged to NBA player Nick Young and the two are already planning the wedding.
Azalea was supposed to tour this year, but she had to cancel the entire tour. She is currently working on a new album.
