MTV promised viewers last night that Justin Bieber will be taking the stage at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday to perform a song that hasn’t been released yet. It will be his first performance at the awards show in five years.

Bieber will perform “What Do You Mean,” a new single that is set to drop on Friday, two days before the ceremony. The track is the first single from his upcoming new album.

The last time Bieber performed at the VMAs was in 2010 when he did a medley of “Baby,” “Somebody to Love” and “U Smile.”

Other performers slated for the show are Domi Lovato, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Twenty One Pilots, Tori Kelly and The Weeknd.

Kanye West will receive the 2015 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and Miley Cyrus is hosting the ceremony. It should be a wild night, since Cyrus apparently has “free reign.”

In other Biebs news, NBC announced this morning that he will perform during the Today Show on Thursday, Sept. 10. It is his first Today appearance since 2012.

Bieber’s new album is scheduled for Nov. 13. The VMAs are this Sunday at 9 p.m.
