Kanye West accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and he ended the entertaining speech by announcing his run for president in 2020.

During the speech, he talked a lot about the 2009 incident with Taylor Swift, during which he interrupted her speech to declare Beyonce deserved the award more. He also talked about his disdain for award shows in general because of the fact that artists will inevitably end up losing.

“I still don't understand award shows," he said. "I don't understand how they get five people who work their entire life to come, stand on a carpet, and for the first time in their life, stand up on a chopping block and be considered a loser.”

He also admitted to smoking some marijuana before the speech to take “the edge off,” adding, "I will die for the art, for what I believe in. And the art ain't always going to be polite!”

Staying on the track of not being polite, he called out Justin Timberlake for winning a Grammy over Gnarls Barkley.

“Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears bro,” he said. “And I was thinking like, he deserved to win album of the year.”

Timberlake then tweeted, “Kanye is so cute, y'all,” adding, “Jokes, you guys... Jokes. #chill.”

After watching West’s entire speech he wrote, “He always has a point. And I support it. #truth.”
