Yes, you read that correctly. More than two decades after legendary rocker Kurt Cobain’s death, some of his recordings are still being discovered and a collection of his work has been put together for a solo album.
The AFP noted that Montage of Heck director Brett Morgen came across around 100 cassettes recorded by Cobain during his research for the documentary.
As we reported, Montage of Heck was released to theaters in May and now Morgen said that the album containing some the recordings will be released on Nov. 6. The release date is the same day the film’s DVD goes sale.
"When I first heard it, I was in the storage facility and I had no prior knowledge of it. I put it on and I immediately felt like there was some sort of portal into his mind, like it was one of the most pure expressions of Kurt that I encountered -- maybe more than in most of his songs," Morgen said.
