The American Horror Story: Hotel characters have finally been revealed.
At Friday's FX Television Critics Association press tour, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk announced the all-star cast's characters. Earlier in the day, we reported that the fifth season of AHS will premiere on Oct. 7.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Lady Gaga will play Elizabeth, a wealthy woman who is obsessed with art, fashion and people. Murphy revealed that Elizabeth "has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode." Gaga's character will be bisexual and will have relationships with the characters played by Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson.
Bassett's character is an actress named Ramona Royale, who visits the hotel often but does not live there. Jackson's character, Will Drake, is a fashion icon who moves to Los Angeles to "creatively re-establish himself."
Sarah Paulson will play a "sexy" drug addict named Sally. She lives at the hotel and doesn't get along with Iris, the hotel owner played by Kathy Bates. Iris has relationships with Bomer, who plays Donovan, and Wes Bentley.
Bentley plays a detective, who is married to Chloë Sevigny's character, Alex Lowell. The pair has to overcome "a great loss in [their] family" as the detective investigates murders at the hotel.
Denis O'Hare plays a character inspired by actress Elizabeth Taylor. He works in the hotel lounge, which is called Blue Parrot Lounge. Falchuk said that O'Hare's character "falls into the LGBT arena," according to Variety.
Fan favorite Finn Wittrock, who played Dandy in American Horror Story: Freak Show, plays a male model named Tristan Duffy.
Murphy stated that Gaga "starts shooting on Monday."
