Macklemore has a lot to celebrate — a new baby, a new wife and a brand new single.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis released their new single "Growing Up (Sloane's Song)" this morning. The song, which features Ed Sheeran, is dedicated to Macklemore's newborn daughter, Sloane.

In the song, Macklemore raps about fatherhood and gives advice to his baby for when she grows up.
"I recommend that you read The Alchemist/Listen to your teachers/But cheat in calculus," he raps. "Tell the truth/Regardless of the consequence/And everyday, give your momma a compliment."
The release of "Growing Up" was Macklemore's unique way of announcing Sloane's birth. The "Thrift Shop" rapper wrote an open letter on his website to explain the moment when he found out that his wife, Tricia Davis, was pregnant, the recording process for "Growing Up" and to announce his daughter's birth.
"Our daughter, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born 2 months ago on May 29th," Macklemore wrote. "There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her."
Macklemore also used the release of the single to announce his marriage to Tricia Davis. On the single cover for "Growing Up (Sloane's Song)," he is holding Sloane's hand and is wearing a wedding ring. He hinted that he and David were married in a tweet posted on June 27, reading "Feels like a good day to get married."
