Netflix has revealed a new policy when it comes to new parents, pertaining to both mothers and fathers, giving them paid leave after child birth.

Parents can take as much time off as they choose in the first year, collecting the same pay as usual.

Tawni Cranz, Netflix's Chief Talent Officer, said in a statement on Tuesday, “We want employees to have the flexibility and confidence to balance the needs of their growing families without worrying about work or finances,” USA Today reports.

Netflix also provides incentives like this for non-parents all year round, giving them the opportunity to take as much time off as they want.

"Experience shows people perform better at work when they’re not worrying about home,” Cranz continued.

WSJ reports employees also get stock options, so it’s good to be a Netflix employee. The company has about 2,000 people employed.

“We’ll just keep paying them normally, eliminating the headache of switching to state or disability pay,” said Cranz.
