One Direction has been through a lot these past few months and now after the release of their fifth studio album, the band has announced that they will be taking a long break. Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will be disbanding.

The break will be starting in March of 2016 and will allow all of the members to focus on other projects.

The Sun reported that the band will not be touring in support of their fifth album. The decision not to tour was made together at a meeting last weekend in London.

A source close to the band said, "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband. They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 per cent behind the decision." They went on to explain that, "It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future. But for now it is the end and they go out on top as the world’s most popular music act."

As a result of this announcement One Direction's last concert will be taking place on October 31st at Motorpoint Arena.

Zayn Malik departed from the band back in March and his leaving has nothing to do with this decision according to sources close to the band. Malik said that he wanted to leave the band so he could pursue a more "normal life."
