Will Turner will be back to butt heads with Jack Sparrow. Orlando Bloom is definitely coming back for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Bloom sat out the franchise’s fourth film, 2011’s On Stranger Tides, but in September 2014, it was rumored that he might be coming back. The actor himself started the rumors, since he told a crowd at an Australian convention that he was open to playing Will Turner again.
Well, if Disney hears you are interested, you’re going to get a call. The studio said over the weekend at D23 that it has signed Bloom for Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The new movie will be released on July 7, 2017, six years after On stranger Tides’ release. It is being directed by Kon Tiki helmers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. In addition to Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally and Stephen Graham are also joining Johnny Depp. Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario and Golshifteh Farahani will make their Pirates debuts.
Bloom played Will Turner in the first three Pirates films, which, along with the Lord of the Rings films, helped make him an international star.
