Taylor Swift's 1989 is about to sound very different. Rock 'n' roll legend Ryan Adams is covering every song off of Swift's record breaking album.

Adams announced the project on Instagram. "Taylor Swift 1989 full album cover night 1. As played by the Smiths,” Adams wrote.

The "When The Stars Go Blue" singer went on to post a quick video clip of his take on "Welcome to New York." “Guaranteed saddest version of Welcome to New York ever — or your tears back,” Adams tweeted. Swift joined in on social media conversation and could barley contain her excitement. After receiving confirmation that the news was true, Swift freaked out and celebrated on Twitter.

Adams has already completed his work on "Style" and "Blank Space" off of 1989.

As previously reported, 1989 has become the fastest selling album in more than ten years, already passing $5 million in sales in the United States. This is the third album from Swift to reach over $5 million.
