Actress Sofia Vergara is headed to Springfield to play Bart Simpson’s hot new teacher.
The show’s executive producer, Al Jean, confirmed that Vergara will guest star on an upcoming episode this season and voice the character of Mrs. Berrera, with whom Bart becomes attracted to.
In the episode titled “Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles,” Bart goes through puberty, which includes growing some facial hair and developing some feelings for his new instructor. However, he won’t be the only one vying for Mrs. Berrera’s heart as Principal Skinner also falls for her.
“We thought it’d be interesting if both Bart and Skinner have a crush on the same woman. She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of,” Jean said.
He added that there is a possibility that the Modern Family star may return to reprise the role in the future.
The Wrap noted that the Bart’s previous teacher, Mrs. Krabappel, was voiced by Marcia Wallace, who passed away in 2013.
The episode featuring Vergara’s pipes is set to air on Sept. 27.
