The dates for the TCM Classic Film Festival 2016 were announced on Wednesday, surprising classic movie fans since the news came so early. The network also announced the theme for next year’s festival.

The Hollywood Reporter got to reveal the dates first. It will run from April 28 to May 1, 2016 in Hollywood. Venues include the famous TLC Chinese Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre.

The theme for the festival will be “Moving Pictures.” It’s a play on words, obviously, as all movies are moving pictures. But it also refers to movies that move audiences emotionally, from powerful coming-of-age movies to tearjerkers.

Film historian Robert Osborne, who had to miss the 2015 festival due to poor health, will be back, as will his TCM co-host Ben Mankiewicz.

TheCelebrityCafe.com covered the 2014 festival, which had the theme of “Family.” Last year’s theme was “History of Hollywood.”

It’s definitely a thrilling four days for anyone who loves classic film. The festival not only includes rare screenings, but will also include appearances from famous faces who made the movies or just love movies as much as we do.

Tickets go on sale on Nov. 17 for Cici cardmembers and Nov. 19 for the general public. There are four different festival passes, from the “Spotlight” pass, which costs $1,649, to the “Palace” pass, which costs $299.
