It probably didn't need to happen at all, but Pixar is making a fourth Toy Story movie, and we now have a much better idea what the plot of the sequel will be.

At the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter told CNBC that Toy Story 4 will focus on a love story between Woody and Bo Peep.

A lot of fans have been worried about the upcoming film given how perfect and conclusive Toy Story 3 was, but Lasseter assures that the new movie will live up to the first three.

"At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that's as good or better than the original," he said. "That's our rule. We don't do things just to print money."

Lasseter will be leading a conference about future Disney movies at 3:00 this afternoon, so stay tuned for some more announcements later today.

Toy Story 4 will be directed by John Lasseter and released on June 16, 2017. As we previously reported, it will be written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack with a story by John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkirch
