Four young scientists head to outer space and come back with special powers in Fantastic Four. When they return to Earth, they must learn to control their new superhuman abilities and work together to defeat a former friend turned foe before he destroys the planet. The PG-13 sci-fi adventure stars Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. It runs for one hour and forty-five minutes.
A man reconnects with an old schoolmate with whom he at a troubled past in The Gift. What starts out as a friendly encounter takes a turn for the worse, becoming an obsession and putting integrity into question. Jason Bateman, Joel Edgerton and Rebecca Hall star in the one hour and forty-eight minute thriller. The film is rated R for language.
An aging rock star tries to make amends for all of the trouble she’s caused while chasing her music dreams in Ricki and the Flash. Estranged for years, she’s now back in her family’s life and coming to terms with how her absence has affected them. Meryl Streep stars alongside her daughter Mamie Gunner, “Jessie’s Girl” rocker Rick Springfield, Kevin Kline and Sebastian Stan. The PG-13 drama plays for one hour and forty minutes.
A fun-loving sheep ends up on an adventure of a lifetime in Shaun the Sheep. Shaun and his herd of sheep stumble into the city and must find their way back home to the countryside. The PG animated film plays for one hour and twenty-five minutes.
A woman, whose family was murdered when she was young, seeks the truth behind their deaths in Dark Places. With the help of an amateur investigation group, she discovers that the person she helped put in prison, her brother, may not actually be the murderer. Charlize Theron, Drea de Matteo, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks and Chloe Grace Moretz star in the suspense film. The thriller is running in limited theaters for one hour and forty-three minutes. It’s rated R for violence, language, drugs and sex.
A teen gets a new perspective on love and life in Diary of a Teenage Girl. The coming of age story is set in San Francisco in 1976 and shows how a young woman’s life changes after she has sex for the first time. The limited released comedic drama stars Alexander Skarsgård, Kristen Wiig, Christopher Meloni and Bel Powley. The one hour and forty-two minute film is rated R for sex, nudity, drugs and language.
Two kids find an abandoned police vehicle and take it for a spin in Cop Car. Their day of fun turns into horror as the children are tormented by the local sheriff who is searching for his car. After a sex scandal rocks his career, he must learn to overcome his flaws and tarnished public image to give assistance the people he helped serve. Nicolas Cage stars in the limited released drama. An artist/poet, banished for his use of words, discovers that his maid and her daughter may be his only allies in Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet. On their way back home, they are forced to flee from officials who are afraid that others will see the validity in his speech and want to revolt. To many people’s surprise, Crimmins opened up about being abused as a child and put comedy aside to take a public stand against child pornography. The one hour and forty-six minute documentary features interviews from Margaret Cho, Patton Oswalt and Marc Maron among others. The unrated film is available in limited theaters.
