Agnes Fenton from New Jersey turned 110 on Saturday, Aug. 1 and she has shared her secret to longevity with us – drinking Miller High Life and whiskey.
Fenton celebrated the milestone birthday at her Englewood home this past weekend. On her 105th birthday, she shared she drank at least one beer a day and a shot of whiskey for many years. She reportedly prefers Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
She spoke with WABC about any other wisdom she might have to share about living a long life, saying, “Ain't no secret, just keep in touch with God and do the right thing, that's all I know.”
She also talked of her faith to The Record, saying, “He gave me a long life and a good life, and I have nothing to complain about. … You’ve got to have God in your life. Without God, you’ve got nothing.”
Fenton has been healthy other than a doctor finding a benign tumor earlier in her life. She recalled his only prescription being alcohol.
She remembered, “He said, ‘Agnes, you must drink three Miller High Lifes a day.’ ” And she has done just that.
