There’s literally a new girl in town. A new baby girl that is.
New Girl star Zooey Deschanel welcomed her first child with Jacob Pechenik last week, Page Six reports. But that is not all the good news. The two got married in a secret ceremony just in time to celebrate their new daughter.
The baby girl, whose name has yet to be released, was born in Austin, Texas where Pechenik, a movie producer, is based.
As People reports, Deschanel confirmed she and Pechenik were engaged and expecting, back in January.
“Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one,” the 35-year-old said.
The couple, who met on set of a movie and started dating last year, did not want to know the sex of their baby beforehand.
“We are going to be surprised,” she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, according to People. “It’s more fun, you know. Make it into a game.”
