The cast for the latest season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars was released earlier today, Sept. 2, which included singer-songwriter Andy Grammer. Widely known for his Top 40 hit “Honey, I’m Good,” Grammer’s upcoming involvement in competitive dancing holds a special place in his heart.

“When I performed 'Honey, I'm Good' on @dancingabc last season, it was obviously exciting and a thrill, but there was something extra and deeper about being there,” he said on Instagram referring to the last time he set foot on the dance floor.

The sock-obsessed star revealed more than the surprise of joining the cast of DWTS through his post. “Anyone who knew my mother, knows she LOVED dance. Anytime it came on the TV her eyes would light up and would get lost in the screen. I remember countless times sitting with her and listening to her say, ‘My one regret in life is that I wish I had been a dancer.’”

The “Good To Be Alive” singer dedicates his new experience as a guest dancer to his mother. “She would have completely lost her mind to sit front row at Dancing With The Stars and I could feel that in my chest loud and clear.
So this one is for you mom. I don't know how to dance, but I'm pretty sure that wherever you are it's going to make you very happy to see me try. I miss you, I love you, and I will be stretching my hammies to make you proud,”

He ended the caption with a competitive-filled simple statement of,
“Game on. #DWTS”

Grammer’s original projected partner, Peta Murgatroyd, was forced to drop out of the competition due to four torn ligaments and detached bone fragment in one of her ankles, according to Inquisitr. Allison Holker, a veteran professional dancer of the ABC show, will fill in as Grammer’s partner.

The diverse star-studded line-up including Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Chaka Kahn, Hayes Grier, Victor Espinoza, Bindi Irwin, Paula Deen, Alek Skarlatos, Tamara Braxton, Gary Busey, and Kim Zolciak-Biermann will hit the dance floor on Monday, Sept. 14, as confirmed on ABC News .
