Author and political commentator Ann Coulter angered the public Wednesday night with offensive, anti-semantic tweets.
Coulter is a supporter of republican nominee Donald Trump and during the GOP debate tweeted "How many f---ing Jews do these people think there are in the United States."
There are approximately 5.3 million Jewish people currently living in the United States.
According to NY Daily News Coulter claims her comment was not about Jewish people but instead claims she was calling out GOP "panderers" for continually reiterating their support for Israel.
The tweet has been shared about 2,000 times and received backlash from hundreds of people including a few celebrities such as actor Seth Rogen.
Times of Israel
reported that advocacy groups Christians United for Israel and the Simon Wiesenthal Center spoke on Coulter's comments referring to them as "completely inappropriate" and "disgusting."
In response to her bombardment of criticism, supporters of Coulter started a hashtag #IStandWithAnn.
This is not the first time Coulter has come under fire for controversial statements. In a 2007 interview with a Jewish host, she said her dream America would be completely Christian. Back in may she said Americans should fear immigrants more than Isis.
