Following Kanye West singing hopeful GOP candidate Ben Carson’s praises in a recent interview, the former neurosurgeon is responding by reciprocating the feeling.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, West said he tried to get Carson on the phone for “three weeks” after hearing him speak, calling him the “most brilliant guy.”

Carson’s business manager, Armstrong Williams, confirmed to The Guardian that West did get Carson on the phone and it was a while back.

“They spoke for about 45 minutes,” he said, adding West was “singing and rapping” during the “fun conversation.”

“Kanye mostly talked about himself,” Williams went on to say, adding Carson thinks the “All Day” rapper is a “genius” and he’s “very grateful that Kanye believes in him.”

West will likely get involved in Carson’s campaign in one way or another and Carson spoke to ABC’s This Week about West’s possible own campaign for 2020, saying he’s “certainly willing to give him a chance.”

"I was extremely impressed with his business acumen,” Carson said of West. “He knows a lot about business.”

The newest poll shows Carson is only percent behind Donald Trump in the Republican race for a presidential nomination.
