Stephen Colbert has continued to pull in political newsmakers to interview for The Late Show. Later this month, 2016 Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will appear on the show.
CBS announced the slate of guests for Sept. 21 through Sept. 25. Cruz will appear on the Monday, Sept. 21 episode, which will also feature Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry. The Donald, who was the target of a sketch in Colbert’s first episode, will appear on the Tuesday, Sept. 22 episode.
That one should be an interesting one since Dr. Ernest Moniz, President Barack Obama’s U.S. Secretary of Energy, is also supposed to be on Sept. 22. Moniz was a top negotiator in the controversial Iran deal, which still needs Senate approval and something Trump has been very critical of.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has insisted that she will not run for the Democratic nomination, will appear on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
On Colbert’s first episode, he had former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is running for the GOP nomination. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will be a guest on Sept. 18, while Vice President Joe Biden was added to the Sept. 10 guest list.
Here’s the guest list for Colbert’s third week:
Monday, Sept. 21: NBA star Steph Curry, Sen. Ted Cruz
Tuesday, Sept. 22: Donald Trump, Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Muniz; Raury
Wednesday, Sept. 23: Hugh Jackman; Hugh Evans, the founder of the Global Poverty Project; Sen. Elizabeth Warren; Pearl Jam
