Arizona motorists have been on edge while police continue to search for whoever is responsible for a series of shootings that have plagued drivers on a highway in downtown Phoenix.
The Associated Press noted that so far there have been nine confirmed shootings and authorities said Thursday that they were investigating another, which would make 10 shootings in 11 days along Interstate 10.
There have not been any fatalities as a result of the shootings, but there has been one injury to a 13-year-old girl whose ear was cut by shattered glass.
Law enforcement officials are asking the public for help in locating the shooter or shooters and have offered a $20,000 reward.
"Somebody is very aware of who this is," said Col. Frank Milstead of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. "There should be no benevolence for this person, or apathy. This is a cold-blooded crime. This person is a coward."
These random shootings first started back on Aug. 29 and some even happened within minutes of one another. They are a terrifying reminder of other highway shootings the have occurred in the country over the last several years and police want a suspect in custody before this story becomes tragic.
