Ernie Hudson, an original Ghostbuster, is set to cameo in Sony’s new Ghostbusters reboot.

It is currently unknown if Hudson will reprise his original role of Winston Zeddemore in the new Paul Feig-directed revamp, which will be a new film bearing no relation to the original films and will feature an all-female Ghostbusters team.

Hudson, who starred in the original 1984 version and its 1989 sequel alongside Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, had originally been lukewarm to the idea of an all-female Ghostbusters reboot, saying that it “would be a bad idea,” per Britain’s Telegraph.

However, Hudson quickly changed his tune, speaking highly of the lead actresses, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, remarking, "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts ... phenomenal!," reported The Hollywood Reporter.

Bill Murray is also set to make an appearance in the film in some capacity, although he will not be reprising his role of Dr. Peter Venkman.

The new Ghostbusters finished shooting on Saturday and is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016, which will also star Chris Hemsworth.
