Hugh Jackman will be retiring as Wolverine very soon, but the actor has a suggestion for who might be able to replace him.
The actor also joked about the feeling of his iconic character being played by someone else, joking, "I don't want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me. I've still got one more to do."
He's referring to The Wolverine 3, which Jackman has said will be his final time playing the character after 17 years. However, it's rumored that he might appear in X-Men: Apocalypse next year, so if that's true, we really have two more movies left with him.
Hugh Jackman first played Wolverine in X-Men 15 years ago, and he has absolutely made the character his own since then. To date, no other actor has ever played Wolverine on screen (other than in a flashback in X-Men: Origins), so it's going to be very difficult to replace Jackman. Still, Tom Hardy would be a great choice, although he's wanted all over the place these days, as he recently said he'd be open to playing the new James Bond.
The Wolverine 3 hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
