In 2012 Jack Reacher grossed over $212 million in the box office. Tom Cruise already signed on for the sequel and now they have found their villain.
After his breakout role in Bravo’s “Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce,” Patrick Heusinger is now in talks to join Tom Cruise as the villain Variety reports. Heusinger other past film credits include A Beautiful Now, Black Swan and Frances Ha. He is repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.
Christopher McQuarrie directed the first film based off the Lee Child series of novels. This time around Ed Zwick will be directing with Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz writing the most recent draft of the script.
The sequel will be based on Child’s “Never Go Back,” in which Reacher travels from South Dakota to the Virginia headquarters of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps and finds that his new commanding officer has been arrested.
According to TheHollywoodReporter Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Aldis Hodge are already in various stages of talks to board the movie, which is supposed to start filming this fall.
