Hardcore fans have already thoroughly discussed every element of Guardians of the Galaxy, but apparently they weren't quite thorough enough.
On his official Facebook page, director James Gunn took some questions from fans as he prepared to head off to shoot Guardians of the Galaxy 2. When asked if all of the Easter eggs from the original Guardians have been revealed, Gunn had an interesting response.
"They have not all been found," he said. "No one has found the big one, really. Maybe once someone came close."
For hardcore Marvel fans, this is huge news. Not only is there an Easter egg hiding somewhere in Guardians that we don't know about, but it's the big one: something far more significant than anything that has been found so far. What could it be? The Collector's room was pretty huge and full of hidden things, so could there have been something slipped in there that we all missed? Is it significant to future movies, or just something fun for fans to enjoy?
Either way, it looks like it's time to whip out that Guardians of the Galaxy DVD once again and get hunting.
Gunn is headed to Atlanta to begin production on Guardians of the Galaxy 2, although the actually filming won't take place until February. Gunn also revealed on Facebook that he'd try his best to have something to show at Comic Con next year, although he said he couldn't promise anything.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
