Johnsonville Grillers have been recalled after small metal pieces were found in its pork sausage patties.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture noted that the brand’s manufacturing partner, Kenosha Beef International LTD, has recalled almost 90,000 pounds of the frozen patties.
The voluntary recall is for the Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Grillers sold in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin.
The products recalled were produced in May and sold in 24-ounce cartons and 13.5-pound cases with a “BEST FLAVOR BY" date of "12/29/15.”
Multiple customers found the metal shards and immediately complained to the company about it, however, there have not been any reports of injuries from consumers.
This is the second recall for metal shards being found in food products this year.
As we previously reported, in March, Kraft Foods Group Inc. recalled thousands of boxes of macaroni and cheese dinners after customers found tiny metal pieces inside some packages.
If you have a carton the Johnsonville patties in your freezer please return it to the store it was purchased from for a refund.
