The horror studio behind movies like Insidious Sinister and The Purge is teaming up with a pretty unexpected director: Jordan Peele.

According to Deadline, the comedian of Key and Peele fame will write and direct the horror film Get Out, which follows a young African-American man visiting the estate of his Caucasian girlfriend's family.

Peele said that the movie will very much be about race and will provoke a conversation about social issues, as was true of many of the best sketches on Key and Peele.

"Get Out takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since Night Of The Living Dead 47 years ago," Peele said. "It’s long overdue."

This will be Peele's first time writing and directing a feature film, and it looks to be the biggest project he's taken on since Key and Peele wrapped up its final season. He also co-wrote the upcoming comedy Keanu, in which two friends pose as drug dealers to rescue a stolen cat. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will both star alongside Will Forte. The Key and Peele duo are also turning their popular Substitute Teacher sketch into a feature film, although no release date has been set for that project.

Blumhouse Productions has recently teamed up with filmmakers like M. Night Shyamalan and Joel Edgerton for The Visit and The Gift respectively, both of which did rather well in theaters considering their extremely small budget.
