Grammy-winning hip-hop megastar Kendrick Lamar is set to team up with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) for a live performance in Washington D.C.

According to Billboard, Lamar is set to perform songs from his instant-classic sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly, with the aid of the NSO in a one-night-only special performance at the Kennedy Center.

Joined by the 96-member orchestra under the direction of Steven Reineke, Lamar will perform a live, classical rendition of his rhymes on Oct. 20, at 8pm.

Reineke is no stranger to working with hip-hop’s biggest stars, as he worked with Nas for his Illmatic anniversary appearance at the Kennedy Center last year, according to the Washington Post.

This will be Lamar’s first orchestral collaboration with Reineke, and it will undoubtedly feature Lamar’s unique blend of funk, jazz and hip-hop.
