Kenny Rogers announced Friday morning on the Today show that he will be retiring after his next world tour.

Rogers told Today that “I’m going to do a big worldwide tour and its going to be my last...I really want to be there with my kids.”

Rogers, 77, has five children including twin 11-year old boys. Rogers is one of the best selling musicians of all time having sold more than 100 million albums worldwide in his career

USA Today also reported that Rogers stated he felt that he owed his fans the chance to say goodbye during the tour and that he plans to “go out with a flurry.” He also said that his mobility has become a problem stating that he doesn’t walk around well anymore and it's driving him crazy.

Rogers is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and his albums The Gambler and Kenny are considered two of the most influential country albums ever.

He will begin his annual Christmas tour Nov. 11 in Ontario and will go on to hit 26 North American cities before venturing on his final world tour.
