Even though Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are no longer together, the tabloids still enjoy putting their names in together in headlines. The latest rumor is that Pattinson decided not to go to the Venice Film Festival this week because he didn’t want to bump into Stewart.
Pattinson was supposed to be in Venice for a screening of The Childhood of a Leader, a new film he made with Stacy Martin and Berenice Bejo. And Stewart did make it to Saturday’s screening of Equals, which co-stars Nicholas Hoult.
However, Pattinson was not at the screenings for Childhood. The official reason was that he was busy filming The Lost City of Z with Charlie Hunnam.
A source told The New York Post’s Page Six that Pattinson wasn’t going to Venice anyway because he knew Stewart was going to be there.
“He didn’t want the story to be all about how he and Kristen were nearly bumping into each other,” a source told the Post. “Venice is very small…and there are only so many parties and hotels.”
Pattinson is currently engaged to singer FKA Twigs. As for Stewart, she’s rumored to be dating Alicia Cargile, but has refused to confirm that.
