Hozier covered Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” on BBC1 Radio’s Live Lounge, and it’s safe to say he knocked it out of the park. It even caught the attention of Smith himself, who tweeted his praises.

Hozer’s version of the song was so well received by Smith, in fact, that he tweeted, “f--king love the Live Lounge cover!!!! Anything you sing makes me heart jump xx Big kisses sir xx.”

Entertainment Weekly notes Hozier’s debut album only came out last year, and since then he’s definitely made his mark in the music industry. His song “Take Me to Church” was a mainstay on the charts and even got a Grammy nomination. He took home two Billboard Awards for the song as well.

Hozier was happy about Smith’s reaction to the cover, replying to his tweet, “Ahh! Thrilled you like it!! Was an absolute joy to cover - hope you're keeping well man x.”
