Ryan Adams took on Taylor Swift's 1989 and released the full version of the cover album on Monday. Turns out that this isn't the first time that Adams has worked on a Swift related project. The two had been working together in the studio previously but never released anything from those studio sessions.
Adams was speaking with
Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Show when Swift called into the show to surprise him. Swift explained that she loved the cover album and felt like it was a create reimagining of her original vision for 1989.
"And so that's one thing that really made it special to listen to this album because I can kind of visualise how he probably recorded it. And I've been in those rooms before and it just made it even more magical," said the "Wildest Dreams" singer.
Adams and Swift were asked during the interview with they would want to work together again and they said that they are "open to anything collaborative."
"We have written together before. We wrote together once and it was amazing. Like I know what his studio is like, I know what his vibe is like. I've seen him create music. It's very much on the sly, ad lib. You (Ryan) create music really quickly. You get this bolt of lightning and Ryan is just off making the song happen," Swift explained.
