The fall film festival season kicked off this week in Venice and things really get heated up this weekend in Telluride, Colorado, which starts on Friday. The festival revealed its lineup today.

The main program includes several films that have already popped up in Venice and some that will play at the Toronto International Film Festival. These films include Tom McCarthy’s Spotlight, Todd Haynes’ Carol, Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts Of No Nation and Scott Cooper’s Black Mass. Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs, which will be screened at the New York Film Festival, will also play at Telluride.

One of the interesting developments is that Sarah Gavron's Suffragette will be screened. That film didn’t make the cut at the other festivals. It opens on Oct. 23 and stars Carey Mulligan as a member of the women’s suffragette movement in England. Meryl Streep has a supporting part.

Guest director Rachel Kushner has also put together a line-up of classics to be screened, including Jean Renoir’s A Day In The Country (1936), Francesco Rosi’s The Mattei Affair (1972) and Robert Frank’s Rolling Stones documentary Cocksucker Blues.

The Telluride Film Festival runs from Friday through Sunday. You can check out our list of 10 fall festival films we’re excited to see right here.
