A woman falls for a new man who appears to be her ideal mate in The Perfect Guy. Their passionate love affair turns sour when she discovers his dark side and he becomes obsessed. The PG-13 suspense thriller runs for one hour and forty minutes.
A man and woman, with reputations of sleeping around, become friends in Sleeping with Other People. The two make a pact to strictly remain friends and never sleep with each other, but soon find themselves acting like a couple. The limited released romantic comedy stars Jason Sudeikis, Alison Brie, Adam Scott, Adam Brody and Amanda Peet. The one hour and thirty-two minute comedy is rated R for sex, language and drugs.
A family man nearly dies in a serious car accident in 90 Minutes in Heaven. Ready to give up on life, he finds hope in his trust in God and the faith of others. Hayden Christensen, Kate Bosworth and Dwight Yoakam star in the drama that is based on a true story. The two hour and one minute film is rated PG-13. It’s available in limited theaters.
An autistic child tries to find a way to fit in in A Brilliant Young Mind / X+Y. A budding math genius, he struggles to form relationships with others but is able to connect with an atypical teacher and a potential love. The comedic drama plays in limited theaters for one hour and fifty-one minutes.
An injured cop reports back to work in 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown. Upon his return, he uncovers information that indicates some of his coworkers may be crooked. The unrated action thriller runs for one hour and thirty minutes. It’s available in limited theaters.
An Indian-American man tries to find a mate in Meet the Patels. His family gets involved in the matchmaking process in the hopes of helping him find a woman with a similar ethnic background. The PG documentary is playing in limited theaters for one hour and twenty-eight minutes.
While many of this week’s films thrilled audiences, next week it’s time to get in on the action as adventure films like Everest and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials enter theaters. Johnny Depp’s latest mob drama, Black Mass, also makes its debut on September 18.
