According to TheHollywoodReporter a Men In Black revival is “very active,” but that leading man Will Smith will not return.
Over the course of three films, the Men in Black movies have grossed over $1.6 billion. The previous installment dabbled in time travel so a new cast could bring a refreshing twist to the franchise, but Smith is a huge factor
When Walter Parkes was asked is Smith would return to the franchise he said, “Most likely no,” according to cinemablend/a>
Smith, who is busy over the next few years with the new Independence Day, Bad Boys 3, and, Suicide Squad probably could not fit Men in Black into his schedule. The executives are confident in the franchise to push on without him, only time will tell if their gamble will pay off.
Rumors are also still in the works that a crossover with the 21 Jump Street franchise are still swirling but those remain rumors.
